About Cactus Pediatric Orthopaedics

Children need orthopedic care that accounts for more than the injury visible on an X-ray. Their bones and joints are still developing, and the right care plan must consider growth, school, sports, family life, and long-term function. Cactus Pediatric Orthopaedics provides specialized care for infants, children, and teens from birth through age 19 at our Gilbert office.

Our Story

Cactus Pediatric Orthopaedics was founded in 2001 by Dr. Gregory Hrasky as the East Valley’s first full-time practice dedicated to children’s orthopaedics. For more than two decades, families and referring medical providers have turned to the practice for fracture care and the evaluation of pediatric bone, joint, growth, gait, spine, and sports-related conditions.

Cactus Pediatric Orthopaedics is sometimes known by another name, Kids Fracture Care. They are the same entity and provide a full scope of care while maintaining the relationships, clinical knowledge, and commitment to East Valley families that have shaped the practice since its founding.

Our philosophy remains family-centered. We do not treat an X-ray in isolation. We consider the whole child, including age, development, activities, goals, and the effect an injury or condition may have at home, school, or at work. Families receive clear information about the diagnosis, available options, and expected next steps. Treatment may include observation, casting, bracing, physical therapy, or surgery, depending on the child’s individual needs.

Meet Our Providers

As Cactus Pediatric Orthopaedics begins its next chapter under Dr. Deric Nye’s leadership, the practice remains focused on specialized bone, joint, muscle, and growth-related care for children and teens. Provider recommendations are based on the child’s diagnosis, age, remaining growth, symptoms, activity level, and long-term needs.

Our clinical approach emphasizes clear communication and shared decision-making with parents and caregivers. Families should understand what the evaluation shows, which treatment options are available, and what to expect during healing or ongoing monitoring.

Our Care Team

A pediatric orthopedic visit depends on more than what happens in the examination room. Our front office team helps families with scheduling, records, insurance questions, and visit preparation. Our clinical support team assists providers and helps children feel as comfortable as possible throughout the appointment.

The practice is committed to timely communication, organized follow-up, and a welcoming environment for children and their families. As the team develops under the Cactus Pediatric Orthopaedics identity, that commitment to practical, family-centered support will remain central to every visit.

Why Choose Cactus Pediatric Orthopaedics?

Cactus Pediatric Orthopaedics offers focused care for growing children in a small-practice setting where families can build relationships with a familiar clinical team. Our Gilbert office provides in-house X-rays when medically appropriate, helping many families avoid a separate imaging visit.

We also coordinate with pediatricians, family physicians, emergency departments, urgent care centers, and other specialists across the Valley. Members of the clinical team maintain credentials across multiple Arizona hospital systems, supporting continuity of care when a child needs hospital-based treatment or a higher level of care. These credentials do not imply hospital ownership, sponsorship, or co-branding of the practice.

Above all, we aim to give parents honest guidance and a treatment plan built around the child’s health today and continued growth in the years ahead.
