Meet Dr. Deric Nye
Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Deric Nye is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in pediatric orthopedic surgery. At Cactus Pediatric Orthopaedics in Gilbert, Arizona, he cares for children and adolescents with fractures, sports injuries, and congenital and developmental conditions affecting their bones and joints. His goal is to help young patients regain strength, confidence, and the freedom to return to the activities they love—from sports and play to everyday movement.

Care Philosophy
Dr. Nye believes excellent care begins with open, honest communication. He takes time to help children and their families understand the diagnosis, treatment options, and what to expect throughout recovery. By building trust and encouraging questions, he helps families take an active role in decisions about their child’s care.
He is committed to evidence-based treatment that supports safe, timely recovery and long-term function. Whether a child needs surgical or non-surgical care, he tailors each treatment plan to their needs, goals, and stage of development. He works closely with families and other members of the care team to support the physical, emotional, and functional aspects of healing.
Outside the Office
Outside of medicine, Dr. Nye’s favorite time is spent with his wife and four children, whether they are at home, traveling, or spending time with friends and family. Family is a big part of his life and helps keep him grounded outside of the office.
He enjoys distance running and regularly competes in half-marathons and Spartan races, always chasing a new personal best.
At home, Dr. Nye enjoys gardening, raising chickens, and spending time outdoors. He is also a chocolate enthusiast and rarely turns down the opportunity for a good dessert.
